Some Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of most common questions we are asked. If you have any additional questions don't hesitate to call or email us.
What are the tutor's qualifications?
Our tutors are typically, but not always, university students. Many people ask us why we target university students for our tutors. Sure a teacher can teach, but how good are they at learning? We believe that tuition should be about a more holistic learning approach.
While our tutors specialise in specific subjects they are all taught our proven learn it up system which has been developed with years of research and experience. This learning system is guaranteed to improve results. There has been a great deal of research into how humans learn, how to improve memory, how to set achievable goals and how to maintain confidence and motivation. Our tutors undertake regular training to ensure they are using the most up to date techniques to get the most out of study and tuition.
Has the tutor had good reviews in the past?
We are extremely proud of all of our tutors, for both results they achieve with each of their students and the feedback we receive. We have so much faith in the training system that we provide a complete satisfaction guarantee. We monitor a number of key performance indicators including results, communication, and many more, on a regular basis to ensure our service is top quality
What happens if I don’t like the tutor?
We are so confident in our tutors we provide a complete satisfaction guarantee, if your not happy with your tutor we will find another one for another session at no extra charge. If we can't find a replacement, you will recieve a full refund.
Minimum number of hours?
Our minimum session is 1 hour, with younger children we break up the session with games to ensure that they remain focused.
How much tuition does my child need?
Generally speaking any more than 1 subject requires 1.5-2 hours as a minimum. Obviously students are all individuals and it comes down to their needs.
Do you follow the curriculum?
Our tutors are tested and trained in the National State and IB Curriculums. In addition to this it is important to understand even with the Australian Curriculum schools are free to cover different topics at slightly different stages. Even different teachers, within the same school expect that things are done their way.
We know it is important to ensure flexibility and tailor the techniques and teachings to suit the student and the way their teacher would like to see things done. Our tutors review the curriculum and are provided with a wide range of worksheets and resources to specifically reinforce a variety of curriculum outcomes. Our tutors are taught to adapt to the specific needs of each student.
How will the tutors know what areas my child needs help with?
Conventional tuition provides a bandaid style solution. We have been striving for years to ensure we do not fall into the same poor habits of other agencies. Our tutors are trained to identify specific areas a child is struggling with and identifying how far back the problem goes. They use a range of techniques and materials taught and provided by us. To build the students knowledge back up, avoiding holes in their knowledge. That way we can improve students results and keep them high.
How much does it cost?
We have a clear pricing structure which will rewards clients committing to a longer term solution. Contact us today for a complete information pack and up to date pricing table.
